Scholarship Match program

Graduate Chapters of Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship Incorporated

The Groove Fund, Inc. is pleased to offer again its Matching Scholarship Program for Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship Graduate Chapters. For 2026, the Groove Fund has reserved the first month of our scholarship drive for applications submitted exclusively by Graduate Chapters. The 2026 Groove Fund Matching Scholarship Program application period begins February 1st and ends February 28th

The Groove Fund’s ability to award scholarships is, of course, dependent upon the amount of money it has available. However, when Graduate Chapters participate in the matching program, the Groove Fund can double the number of scholarship recipients through contributions from the chapters. Below is how the program works:

1. The Matching Scholarship Program is only open to graduate chapters in financial good standing with the International Office of Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, Inc. at the time it makes application for the match.

2. The Chapter must first identify a qualified high school senior or college student and have them fully complete a scholarship application.

Familiarize yourself with scholarship candidate requirements and the documents required to complete an application to assist your referred candidate in completing the application (See website FAQ).  Among qualified others, we encourage you to refer members of the Fellowship and those who are considering becoming members.

3. Next, a responsible Chapter contact must complete a Matching Scholarship Request form (or see below).  The request form must be submitted before the scholarship application deadline, February 28th. Give your applicant time to complete the application by the deadline. No money is due when the form is submitted.

4. An online scholarship application will be sent via a DocuSign email to the candidate identified in your request form.

5. The Chapter can only nominate one candidate for a matching scholarship. The candidate must meet the criteria established by the Groove Fund. No exceptions.

6. The chapter match program closes on February 28, 2026. No applications will be sent to match candidates after that date. After that date, we plan to open a scholarship program to the public. At that time, anyone can request an application via the Groovefund.org website. Only the first 100 scholarship application requests will be recognized.

7. If the Chapter is notified that its applicant is eligible to win a scholarship, it will have 21 days to submit a money order or to make an electronic payment of $500 to The Groove Fund. No personal checks will be accepted.

8. The Groove Fund will then match, or double, the amount submitted by the chapter (i.e., $500 becomes $1,000).

Before The Groove Fund releases the $1,000 scholarship award to the applicant's college or university, a photo must be submitted of the chapter awarding a lookalike or mock check to the recipient. The image will be published, among other places, on our website and in Sword & Spear, and shared with donors.
